Back in Freezington speak to the Mayor and he'll tell you about a special vegetable, and point you towards his bookshelf. Read about Shade Carrots and follow Calyrex outside again. Tell him about the latest development and you'll be sent off to gain these Shade Carrots. The way to do so involves going on a Dynamax Adventure to get the required Dynite Ore to trade back in Freezington. I head back and I edit out one failed attempt at a Legendary (Landorus-I smoked my team) before I go for a run that ends up with me catching Cresselia and gaining the required Dynite Ore. I start with Manectric, but swap to Alolan Raichu because I knew it would resist Psychic STAB. If you didn't spend your original Dynite Ore you wouldn't need to go on this second adventure.

With the seeds, head to Calyrex and he'll tell you where to plant them. Back in Freezington will give you Glastrier and Ice Rider Calyrex form, whereas at Giant's Bed will give you Spectrier and Shadow Rider Calyrex. I opt for Spectrier so plant the seeds at Giant's Bed, but first catch some Eevee forms there. The choice between either of the two is your own choice, but I would recommend Spectrier and Shadow Rider Calyrex form, Spectrier has 100 more speed, but 100 less across its 2 defences, which might seem like a bad trade-off but a pure Ice type that is slow is just sitting there asking to be hit for a load of damage. Spectrier still has reasonable enough bulk to take neutral hits. If you want a Trick Room team, Glastrier will suit it well but is still susceptible to Burns and Intimidate being a physical attacker. They both come with a Moxie equivalent ability, with Spectrier's being for its Special Attack, and when combined with Calyrex they both gain the Unnerve ability on top of this, as well as Calyrex's movepool and +20 to each stat which isn't HP.

Pull the Shaderoot Carrot out either way, and you'll see your chosen Pokémon. Spectrier runs towards Freezington, so head there. Both steeds appear at level 75, and with a good offensive stat can cause you trouble, which is weird that Spectrier decided to use Double Kick and Thrash over Shadow Ball once Manectric was knocked out. Volcarona finished it off easily.

Speak again to Calyrex about the Reins of Unity and Calyrex will give you a Radiant Petal. Head to the mayor who will talk about the requirements to make the Reins of Unity, and Peony comes in and assists with the making of them.

Your next objective is to head to the Crown Shrine now that we have both the Carrot and Reins. I Head past Giant's Bed to the NE and through Roaring-Sea Caves (where I catch a Deino) and then back to Freezington to end the part.
