The Flamin' Mamies - Shimmy Like My Sister Kate

Shimmy!! This is the Flamin' Mamies version of the 1915 song 'I Wish I could Shimmy like my Sister Kate' (written by Clarence Williams and Armand Piron). This song is a bit of a work in progress but we thought we'd still share it with you anyway! Our lyrics have been gathered from many different versions of the song.

The Flamin' Mamies are a 5 piece, all-girl jazz string band who hail from Liverpool in the UK. We have been playing together for just over 2 years and we were mostly beginners when we started. Our line up is:

Mandy 'Banjo' Bailey - Banjo and vocals / scat sounds
Chantilly Lace - Ukulele and vocals / scat sounds
Cress the Goddess - Washboard and Percussion
