Bob Paris' bodybuilding career was at a peak in 1989 after mostly top five placings in about 10 shows in a row in 1988 (including the European Pro Grand Prix Tour) when he announced in Ironman magazine that he was marrying Rod Jackson. Bob and his husband then went on a few talk shows to discuss their union, a level of public discussion that was quite revolutionary at the time.
