In this tutorial, I want to share with you the engineering and design process that I had to go through and the challenges that I had to face before I was able to create my own IR remote Decoder library for a PIC microcontroller.

IR Remote is perfect for simple Home Automation projects, TV Remotes, and others. Because of such a project, I had to interface an IR remote with a PIC microcontroller. My initial objective was to find the library for IR remote online. But after searching quite a bit, I was unable to find a simple library that does the job. This is why I had to go the hard way and make my own library for IR remote that is supported by a PIC microcontroller.
