Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has said that Nigeria can only unlock the full potential of its youthful population and reposition itself for sustainable growth if both the government and the people learn to dream big while starting small.

Governor Eno made the assertion while delivering a lecture at the 7th convocation ceremony of Mountain Top University (MTU), Ogun State, which also marked 10 years of the institution’s establishment as a university.

He described Nigeria as a nation of big dreams with enormous opportunities in sectors such as technology, agriculture, creative industries and governance.

Speaking on the theme “Dream Big, Start Small,” the governor noted that Nigeria’s major challenge is the lack of discipline to build patiently, ethically and strategically from modest beginnings.

Governor Eno challenged Nigerian youths to shun shortcuts and the entitlement mentality, stressing that the pursuit of success without due process remains one of the country’s biggest setbacks.

In his remarks, the Chancellor of Mountain Top University, Dr Kolawole Olukoya, advised the graduating students to uphold the moral and formal education instilled in them by the institution even after graduation.

He also urged them to remain committed to the growth and sustainability of their alma mater.
