Hello everyone. Welcome to the Madly Bangali channel!!

We never thought of leaving our beloved Kolkata (West Bengal) since both of us have “Kolkata fever” to a great degree. However, as fate would have it, in 2017 we had to leave our hometown and shift to Pune. After a year or so, we had to relocate to Bangalore.

Since my husband works in the IT(Information Technology) industry, the Silicon Valley of India (Bangalore) was a natural fit for him. Also, the opportunity to provide better special schooling and therapy for Potuman was available here. For the first time, all factors were favourable and it didn’t feel like fitting a square peg in a round hole.

But as the saying goes, ‘Man proposes and God disposes’. The Corona virus reared its ugly head and the world was changed forever. All our plans went for a toss and we had to move back to our hometown (Kolkata). To make matters even worse, while we were in Kolkata, our landlord in Bangalore suddenly asked us to vacate our flat as he had intentions of using it. As helpless and powerless tenants, we had no option but to give in to our landlord’s demands.

During the peak covid months when the future truly looked bleak for the entire world, we were forced to shift to another rented place. As if the constant fear of disease and death hanging over our heads wasn’t enough, we had to give humongous effort to shift and settle in our new flat and manage our special child simultaneously. This was when we decided enough is enough. We need our own place that we can call home and where we don’t have to live according to the whims of strangers. Hence, began the search.

The search for our perfect new home is another story in itself. Ask anyone who has bought a house in Bangalore and they will tell you exactly how cumbersome and tiresome the process is. However, after months of searching for a budget friendly flat, we were successful in booking a 2BHK here in July, 2021. We eventually shifted to our new home in April, 2022. This video is all about how we made this four walls of brick, cement, and sand into a home, our home!!
