Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, popularly known as the SREC, was founded in the year 1994 by Philanthropist and Industrialist Sevaratna Dr R. Venkatesalu. The college campus is located in Vattamalaipalayam, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. It is an autonomous institution that is affiliated to Anna University in Chennai and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) of New Delhi. The institution is accredited by the NBA (National Board of Accreditation) and by the NAAC with an 'A' Grade. The institute was ranked 142 among Engineering colleges by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) and ranked 63 for BTech by The Week in 2020.

SREC offers a total of 19 courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate level combined. The institute offers BE programmes to its students in some emerging fields which include Robotics and Automation, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and Biomedical Engineering. Besides, ME and MBA courses are also offered. There are around 323 faculty members present to mentor 4,800 students studying at the institute. The institute has an Innovation Centre along with a Research and Development department to provide real time exposure to the students. The campus of SREC features a central digital library, a language laboratory, and seminar halls. The on-campus accommodation includes four hostel blocks - three for boys and one for girls.

Placements: About 50 percent of students gets placed. The packages are on average of 8 lakh. The top recruiting companies include CTS, Infosys, TCS and Zoho. About 20 percent of students will get internship by participating in several events and hackathon. Companies actively provide internship.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is on average when compared with other colleges in the locality. Computer labs are well maintained you can get the most out of it. There are about 8 labs available for CSE alone and each lab is designed for specific subjects domain. There is a separate library for department as well. Only international hostel block is well maintained. The other normal hostel blocks are on average and this applies same for food quality. Wi-Fi is available and we have experienced 4 mbps speed when everyone is connected and you will not get mobile network in hostel. There is a small medical facility inside the campus for minor health issues. Sports are given preference.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and are completely qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is above average. The curriculum is updated every once in a while to keep up with the technologies used in the industries. The semester exams are moderate and the is about 80 percent pass percentage.

Other: The CSE course is one of the valuable course in the college. Lots of events are conducted in college.
