Oradea, formerly Oradea Mare, (Hungarian: Nagyvárad, German: Großwardein, Slovak: Veľký Varadín, Latin: Magnovaradinum) is the capital of Bihor County, Crișana, Romania. It is located in western Romania, on the Crișul Repede River, close to the border with Hungary.

At the same time, Oradea is also the most important city in the historical region of Crișana. At the 2021 census, the municipality had 183,105 inhabitants. The metropolitan area, which also includes 11 neighboring communes, had, in 2002, a population of 249,746 inhabitants, of whom 68.2% were Romanians, 28.7% Hungarians, etc. During the interwar period, 20.6% of the city's population was made up of Jews, with communities of Germans, Slovaks, Ukrainians, etc. also recorded. The spa resorts of Băile Felix and Băile 1 mai are located 8 km and 4 km from the city, respectively. In the Middle Ages, there was an astronomical observatory in the Oradea Citadel, and the astronomers who worked there used the Oradea meridian as the 0° meridian.

Oradea's tourism is developing, with Oradea participating, along with Băile Felix, at the Vienna Tourism Fair in January 2015, and at the Berlin Tourism Fair in 2024.
