N Scale Scenes on the 4X6 Layout 4/25/20

Описание к видео N Scale Scenes on the 4X6 Layout 4/25/20

Running both Erie Lackawanna GP 7 units on the 4X6 N Scale layout. #1409 is on the inner oval and it's pulling a bunch of 2 bay hoppers. #1405 is on the outer oval with some three bay hoppers.

They are first seen going around Benny's Hill and then they pass Arlee Station*. The station's parking lot is just about complete. I just have to put in some lights in the parking lot. The trains are then seen going by a residential neighborhood. The neighborhood is also nearly complete. The small house with the porch and tan roof didn't have a garage so I'm going to put a small unattached garage next to it.

Next the trains are seen in a wooded area. In the background two boxcars can be seen on a spur. A detail shot shows that the C.N.W. and UP boxcars are serving a barrel factory.

The Union Pacific boxcar will see future use (GRUMBLES) after I take out its "pizza cutter" wheels and insert low profile wheels.

The two short trains are then seen going under an old Bachmann non operating signal bridge. I got that off of Ebay. Originally it wasn't high enough to let autorack and double stack cars to pass under it. I raised it by placing it on HO Scale cork. The cork was covered with fine ash colored ballast.

The next scene has the trains passing by a feed mill. Two C.N.W. hoppers are on the spur. After that we are back at Benny's Hill where two deer can be seen near the tracks.

*I have several comedic references on the layout. The moose with the lady in red is a reference to the conversation taking place under the opening credits to "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"

("A moose once bit my sister.")

Benny's Hill is, of course, named after the comedian with the same name.

The Sci-fi Channel era of "Mystery Science Theater 3000" is represented by a red and white Volkswagen van is a nod to Pearl Forrester's "space van". Those "Jack Frost" hoppers and tank cars are also a nod to a famous MST3K episode.
