The "lost years of Jesus" refer to the period in the Bible between the ages of 12 and 30 when Jesus' life is undocumented. Some theorists suggest that during this time, Jesus traveled to India to study spiritual traditions, including Buddhism and Hinduism. This idea was popularized by books like The Unknown Life of Jesus Christ by Nicolas Notovitch, a 19th-century Russian writer who claimed to have discovered ancient texts in a Himalayan monastery.

In Islamic traditions, particularly the Ahmadiyya Muslim movement, it is proposed that Jesus survived the crucifixion, traveled eastward, and lived in Kashmir, India, until his death. A tomb in Srinagar, known as the **Roza Bal**, is claimed by some to be Jesus' burial place. However, this theory is highly contested and remains controversial.

Some proponents of the theory highlight cultural and spiritual links between Jesus’ teachings and Indian philosophies. They point to similarities such as the emphasis on compassion, non-violence, and inner transformation, suggesting possible cross-cultural influences. These similarities, however, could also be coincidental or reflective of universal spiritual principles.

Despite these claims, mainstream historians and religious scholars largely dismiss the theories of Jesus in India due to a lack of concrete evidence. Nicolas Notovitch's claims, for instance, were debunked by later researchers, who found no such manuscripts in the monasteries he mentioned. Additionally, the Roza Bal tomb is considered by many to be unrelated to Jesus, with local Kashmiri traditions associating it with a Muslim saint, not Jesus.

While the idea of Jesus visiting India is intriguing and aligns with some spiritual traditions, it remains speculative and lacks strong historical evidence. It is more widely considered part of alternative historical narratives rather than established fact.
