In this video, we will discuss the issue when The home page has no server-side 301 redirect from WWW to non-WWW website version or vice versa.

You’ve probably noticed that some websites do or do not contain the WWW. Is there a difference between websites that do or do not use this URL type?

At this point, we can’t say with certainty which type of URL — WWW or non-WWW — should be used for your website. They both have advantages and disadvantages.

You can simply check it from your side by fist heading to www version and then to non-www. If in both cases it does not redirect you no another version of the website and both pages return 200 status code, that means that the 301 redirect is not implemented.
Or, as an option, you can always use our WWW redirect checker (the link to it will be in the description) that will tell you whether the redirect is implemented.



We recommend using a server-side 301 redirect. Also, you can use rel="canonical" HTTP headers to indicate the canonical URL for HTML documents and other files.
