Hot Water VS Cold Water Humidifier Efficiency Test.

Описание к видео Hot Water VS Cold Water Humidifier Efficiency Test.

I tested the efficiency of my whole house humidifier. I wanted to know just how much water is getting into my homes air for how much water is just going down the drain.

I tested the efficiency of using hot or cold water with just the furnace circulating fan moving room temperature through, as well as with the furnace running hot air.

The short answer is that hot water fed to the furnace roughly doubles the amount that evaporates into the air, but it's more complicated than that because the temperature of water going down the drain after each test means that the hot water actually helps heat the home a bit, making it more efficient in the winter overall.

My recommendation is that if you can get your relative humidity high enough with just cold water and the humidifier set to only turn on when the furnace is running hot, that's the most efficient option, but the answer becomes more complicated when you need to get more humidity into your home. I've included my findings in detail in the video to help you make the best decision for your specific situation.

Oh, and for the needle valve, go support your local hardware store, but if they don't have one available you can buy one from this link:
