Here’s the original film version of famous Ram bhajan “Suraj Ki Garmi Se” by Sharma Bandhu. Sharma brothers ( Sharma Bandhu / शर्मा बन्धु ) have been most famous for singing "Suraj Ki Garmi Se Jalte Hue Tan Ko" for 1974 Best Feature Film on National Integration winning Hindi film Parinay (1974). The lyrics for this song is given their father Late Pandit Ramanand Sharma. Music for this film is by Jaidev. The film starred Romesh Sharma and Shabana Azmi as the leading actor and actress.

There are other versions of this Ram Bhajan, but this original quartet singing gives altogether a different dimension to this devotional or spiritual song. I liked this song not because of it’s basically being a “Ram Bhajan”, rather liked the tune, motivational words and above all, the unique way of quartet energetic singing, putting there’s heart out. So wish this song is not being tagged as a mere religious song.

About the Quartet:
Sharma Bandhu (Sharma Brothers) refers to four Indian classical vocalist brothers, who perform bhajan and Hindu devotional music. They were born in Muzaffarnagar of Uttar Pradesh, India. The quartet consists of the Pandit Gopal Sharma, Pandit Shukdev Sharma, Pandit Kaushalendra Sharma and Pandit Raghavendra Sharma.
