Examples of cases when PID control is used: heating and cooling in buildings, vehicles cruise control, HVAC systems and more.
All PID have some sort of feedback to continuously control a dynamic process and some kind of control mechanism
PID stands for Proportional Integral and Derivative control.
The output of the PID controller, or, the total control value is equal to the control value from the proportional, plus
the control value from the integral, plus the control value from the derivative.
Autotune is used in order to find the optimal PID values (Proportional Integral and the Derivative)
