From phrases like “children should be seen, not heard” to harsh punishment and narcissistic control, many of us were taught to obey before we were allowed to feel. What we called culture was often trauma passed down as tradition.

This conversation is not about blaming our parents. It is about breaking generational cycles, healing childhood trauma, and learning conscious parenting. It is about naming what hurt us so we do not repeat it in our homes.

Healing does not erase where we come from. It changes where we are going.
