How Many Gods Are There? #god #facts #truth #religion #universe #bible #jesus #Godisnotaman #onegod
"How many gods are there?"
This question has echoed through history, across cultures, and within the hearts of billions. But today, let's not answer it emotionally or culturally. Let’s approach it through reason, logic, and observation.
Look around us — or rather, look beyond us. The universe exists. Planets, laws of physics, time, space, life, consciousness... none of this came from nowhere.
Everything that begins to exist must have a cause. The universe began to exist. So the universe, too, must have a cause — but not just any cause. It must be a necessary being: one that does not depend on anything else for its existence.
Why? Because everything we observe is contingent — it depends on something else to exist. Trees depend on soil, water, sunlight. Humans depend on parents. The earth depends on gravity, on the sun. The sun itself depends on fusion and matter. So we ask: what does it all ultimately depend on?
It must end somewhere. There must be a being — not caused, not created — that simply is. A necessary being that caused the universe and everything in it, but itself is uncaused.
This being — we call God.
But let’s be clear. This God cannot be anything like the universe or its contents. He cannot be made of matter, energy, or bound by time or space — because He created all of those things.
He must be entirely unlike His creation. He is outside the universe, not part of it. Not an object inside of it. Not a man, not an animal, not a force of nature.
This is the concept of a transcendent God — one who is completely separate from and independent of His creation.
And this is not just theology — it's rational. It's what makes logical and even scientific sense.
Some people, often out of emotion or misunderstanding, argue against God's existence by comparing Him to things inside the universe. But that misses the point entirely.
We're not talking about a "man in the sky" or some mythological figure. We're talking about the necessary, eternal origin of all existence.
Now, does this prove a specific religion? No. It doesn’t.
But it does tell us something important:
If there is one necessary, eternal Creator — and only one — then any religion that claims there are many gods, or that God is part of creation, cannot be true.
That leaves us with only the monotheistic religions — those that claim there is only one God, who is eternal, necessary, and entirely unlike His creation.
But even among monotheistic religions, not all concepts of God match the requirements of the necessary being.
So, if you’re searching for the truth, ask:
• Does this religion describe a God who is eternal, necessary, and uncreated?
• Is this God separate from the universe, not made of matter, not limited by time?
• And most importantly, does the message of this religion claim to come from that very same necessary being?
This is where your research begins. The answer won't come from emotions or assumptions — but from a careful, honest investigation.
There is only one necessary being — one true God — who brought everything into existence. That’s the only conclusion both reason and evidence can support.
Now the question is:
Has that God revealed Himself?
If so, then only a religion that accurately describes that necessary being could possibly be true.
Thank you for watching — and keep seeking the truth.
