Yola & Marty have taken the podcast world by storm….but it took 10 years of hustling to get it!

Dope As Yola has spent a decade building the largest Cannabis channel on Earth…but it was met with years and years of censorship!

Yola recently had a Forbes article done on him, the article was a walkthrough of his journey from a “dealer” in his hometown, to becoming one of the largest names in the industry today.
Yola has shown time and time again that he is more than just a “pothead”. He has multiple successful businesses under his umbrella accompanied with insane content that keeps his diehard fan base heavily engaged.

From his clothing company Push Trees to his alternative cannabinoid brand The Dopest Shop…Yola has found a way to monetize his content outside of ad revenue…and that is the ultimate goal for content creators in the digital space!

Marty O’Neil has spent the same decade of time on his career…which is building up and supporting the BIGGEST names in comedy. Marty has worked with people such as Joe Rogan, Theo Von, Adam Corolla and the list goes on. He has helped film multiple Super Bowl commercials, and worked with such companies as NETFLIX, GOOGLE, T-MOBILE, MICROSOFT, and many more. Marty is a ‘Digital Media Swiss Army Knife’, and a master of adding on skills that add tremendous value in the space.

Across their YouTube channels, in less than 500 videos, the duo has garnered over 2.6 billion minutes of watch-time, over 230 million views, and hit the top of the global comedy charts with “DOPE AS USUAL” Podcast; also garnering deals with major corporations, and interviewing major celebrity guests.

Graphic Design grad Marty O'Neill started Drastic Graphics as a small business creating party fliers and mixtape covers in his hometown of Buffalo, NY. Eventually, Marty developed his homegrown brand into a body of work that would have global visibility, leading Drastic Graphics to new opportunities in podcasting, comedy tours, and eventually seeing his graphics on the massive screens outside of New York City's Madison Square Garden.

Building his foundation in branding and design for popular comedy podcasts like The Joe Rogan Experience, Marty has started to shift his focus, turning Drastic Graphics into a full-fledged creative agency, offering clients branding, audio and video production, and web design services. It was not his original plan.

Thomas is a social media star who has gained fame for his Dope as Yola YouTube channel. His vlogging about all-things marijuana with strain reviews and joint rollings has helped him grow to more than 136 million views. He is also the owner of Push Trees and The Dopest Shop. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
