No one will forget the images of September 11. Islamist terrorists hijack four civilian planes. Two crash into the World Trade Center in New York, one destroys the Pentagon, one crashes into a field in Pennsylvania. Almost 3,000 people die that day and nothing in the USA is ever the same again: Survivors are trying to come to terms with what they experienced, aid workers are searching for human remains in the rubble, Muslims are battling resentment and across the US prevails the fear of more attacks.
