The Yi people’s Torch Festival (火把节) is one of China’s most intense and visually spectacular celebrations: a night of fire battles, bonfires, and ancient rituals that light up the southwest.

Filmed in Weishan, Yunnan (云南巍山), this video takes you inside the heart of the Torch Festival, where locals throw burning torches, dance around massive fires, and honor traditions rooted in Yi and Bai people mythology.
