STORYLINE:
More than 100 protesters took to the streets in Tokyo on Sunday to protest Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's defence policies, in particular the controversial security bills that would enable Japanese troops to fight overseas.
The protest was organised by a group of teenage students, who were also urging teens to vote in the Upper House elections this summer when 18 and 19–year-olds will be able to vote for the first time.
Students said they supported Article 9 of the constitution in which Japan "forever renounces war as a sovereign right of the nation".
Protests by teens were also held in other Japanese cities on Sunday, including Sendai and Osaka.
