Study Police Sciences at the University of South Wales

On this police science degree, you will join students from all over the UK who have a common interest in law enforcement.

We devised our police science degree by consulting serving police officers of all ranks, so what you learn is relevant and meets specific requirements set by police forces. The course is enhanced by visiting lecturers, including serving police officers. This, added to the considerable staff experience and areas of expertise, provides the opportunity to gain a detailed understanding of policing and what it takes to be an efficient police officer.

If you want practical experience while you study, we recommend you apply to join the Special Constabulary of your chosen force. Since October 2008, some students have also been involved in the Police Student Volunteer Scheme. They gain first-hand experience and understanding of a real community, offer crime prevention advice and engage with the community on crime, disorder and safety matters. This extra experience is sure to be useful after graduation when you apply to the force of your choice.
