The DJI Phantom 2 is an excellent quadcopter for the money. If you are trying to get into aerial photography or videography, the Phantom 2 is probably the best RTF drone out there (for the money). In this set up I am using the Phantom 2 with the Zenmuse H3-3D 3-Axis Gimbal. I bought this package from Amazon. Now this set up is for the GoPro 3, 3+, 4. If you want to use a different camera you will need to look in to other gimbals. With GoPro's new Hero 4 Black Edition, you can capture some hollywood shots! FPV gear and the iOSD mini are not necessary to get usable shots by any means, it just helps to line up shots and see where you're flying. If you are new to quadcopter there are plenty of inexpensive quadcopter to learn on. I'm talking like 50 bucks! The Syma X11 is one of the best quadcopter to learn on.
