The Austro-Prussian War: The Battle of Langensalza, 1866 (Part 1)

In the Battle of Langensalza on June 27, 1866, during the Austro-Prussian War, the Kingdom of Hanover fought against the Kingdom of Prussia near Bad Langensalza, Germany. Despite winning the battle, the Hanoverians were eventually surrounded by a larger and strengthened Prussian army. Unable to join forces with their Bavarian allies in the south, the Hanoverians were forced to surrender. This event led to the downfall of the Hanoverian Army and the incorporation of Hanover into an expanding Prussia, ultimately leading to the formation of a unified Germany.
