Описание к видео Episode 8: Grand Trunk Railway's Lodges in Algonquin Park 1908-1955

In 1897, once the railway was open for passenger service along the southern edge of Algonquin Park, recreational tourism to Algonquin Park became a possibility. In 1908 The Grand Trunk Railway decided to open a lodge on Cache Lake in order to both drive traffic on its northern railway lines, but also to make sure that those who did venture to the wilderness had good accommodation and activities available to them. This video shares the history of the three lodges built along the rail line in Algonquin Park including the Highland Inn at Cache Lake, Camp Nominigan on Smoke Lake and Camp Minnesing on Burnt Island Lake.
