A question that l'm often asked is why I decided to make this move.

Back in 2007, when I left LA to go to NYC (at age 26), people asked me the same question. I had a great job, home, friends/family, and the weather was always so perfect - why would I choose to quit and move so far away to a place where I knew no one, barely had any money, with no job lined up?

NYC had my heart. Yes, l've had some of the roughest years of my life in NYC, but I wouldn't have traded them for anything. But (after 2020, 15 years of living there, and turning 40) I couldn't help but feel that this chapter of my life was closing. I didn't know quite how/when that was going to happen - I just knew that it was coming.

Now, here I am, making another big (hugely disruptive) move yet again. Back to knowing no one, quitting my job and relying on the little savings that I have and, on top of it all, having to learn an entirely new language. But, regardless of how hard I knew it was going to be, I also knew that it was the right decision for me. Especially as a person who never wants to stop growing, learning, and improving. Who knows where this journey will take me? l'm excited to find out.
