ACA PN-20 Siren Test, Rolling Meadows, IL – 10/2/18

Описание к видео ACA PN-20 Siren Test, Rolling Meadows, IL – 10/2/18

(Filmed on 10/2/18). Last month, I didn't film the Illinois statewide monthly test since I had class at that time. Today, I didn't really have anything important going on my class today, so I thought about ditching the first part of it and showing up really late just to film this siren. The last time I was here, I captured a video of the weekly growl test, so this time, I decided to come to the same location to film the monthly test.

This siren is a Fulton-controlled ACA PN-20 since it doesn't have any ACA logos on it, and located in a neighborhood by a nature trail running between two neighborhoods. However, it hasn't been filmed by any other siren enthusiast except CHI Elevators which probably has to do with the fact that it's hidden in a neighborhood. Anyways, when it started to test, it seemed to do it at 9:59 unlike most sirens in Illinois that test exactly at 10:00. I wonder if Rolling Meadows sets off some of their sirens before the required test time because I noticed this one seemed to do about 2 minutes of alert instead of 1 minute. Whatever the case is, it was still a pretty solid test.

Then when the siren wound down, you're able to hear two distant 2001's and possibly some Whelen WPS's. Listening to that ambience, I noticed the 2nd 2001 I heard kept going. Same thing with, what I thought was, a Whelen WPS-2809. I'm starting to have a theory that that 2001 was coming from the Palatine Public Works and the Whelen WPS-2809, which I thought I heard, was coming from Sunset Meadows Park in Arlington Heights.

When I filmed a video of the ambience of Palatine's sirens, which I didn't upload, it seemed like the 2001 still going was coming from the Public Works. And then when I watched Montecat33's & Midwest Siren Productions's videos of the ACA Alertronic AL-6000R in Rolling Meadows, I also heard a Whelen that still seemed to be testing which could've been coming from that park since it's close to the Alertronic.

Even though I missed most of class that day, it was still worth coming to this siren. I might plan on ditching part of class for next month if we're not really doing anything to film either Schaumburg's or one of Streamwood's P-50's or the ACA Alertronic AL-6000R in Rolling Meadows. Cook County and most of Illinois test their sirens on the first Tuesday of the month at 10:00 AM.

*Also, sorry if I haven't been uploading in a long time. Since I'm now in college and have a job, I haven't had a lot of time to upload any YouTube videos, but I'm planning on uploading more when I go to Open House Chicago this year to film some elevators.
