Senate Republicans react to President Donald Trump's racist tweets against four congresswomen of color, Sen. Lindsey Graham from South Carolina, a key congressional ally of the presidents believes the tweets were not racist but instead "narcissistic."
Senator Graham told reporters Wednesday he did not believe that the president is a racist. He said, "I think the president is in a tug of war with his opponents... he lashes out at people who are critical of him."
Two days after Trump tweeted that four Democratic freshmen should "go back" to their home countries -- Graham said "I really do believe that if you're a Somali refugee who likes Trump he's not going to say go back to Somalia. A racist says go back to Somalia because you're Somalian or you're Muslim or whatever. That's just the way he is -- more narcissism than anything else.
Republican Senator from Louisiana, John Kennedy also said "I don't think the president is a racist," and that the presidents' comments were a "poor choice of words."
Kennedy has defended the president and said in an interview that the four congresswomen were "whack jobs."   
Reporters asked if he would apologize for his comments he said "I'm not apologizing. I do think they're whack jobs. I don't mean any disrespect but maybe they think I'm a whack job but I think they're whack jobs."
The four congresswomen who have garnered Trump's aggressive condemnation are Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan.
