After losing their first match of the season against Rajasthan Royals Lucknow Super Giants have bounced back in an emphatic way as they have beaten Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore respectively. Pace sensation Mayank Yadav has bowled exceptionally well and played a pivotal role in LSG’s two wins.

He has regularly clicked the 150 kph mark and rattled the opposition batters with pace and accuracy. Also Quinton de Kock and Nicholas Pooran have been severely punitive against opposition bowlers as the Giants have posted daunting totals in their previous two matches. KL Rahul has gotten off to a few starts but hasn’t converted them into substantial scores.

Nicholas Pooran: (On the surface) It's definitely different this year there's more bounce on the wicket and more batting-friendly looking forward to that as batsmen. (Ideal batting position) It doesn't really matter what's the right position. In the last eight years I have batted all different numbers and have had enough experience.

Whatever situation whatever number the team required me to bat I know I have the game to perform that role. It's a long tournament losing is a part of the game but that loss in the first game showed us what we needed to fix as a group. The guys really bounced back in the next two games. Today we have another opportunity to try to be consistent as a group and try to get the results we want.

Given his track record in the IPL it won’t be a surprise if the LSG skipper starts converting those starts into formidable scores very soon. On the other hand Gujarat Titans have won a couple of matches while they’ve lost two games out of the four played. Shubman played a pivotal innings as the Titans posted 199/4 against Punjab Kings however it was overshadowed by Shashank Singh’s spectacular knock that came in a winning cause.

Rashid Khan has looked mediocre but Mohit Sharma has impressed once again. His wily variations have deceived batters and the Titans would want him to fire against a dangerous batting line-up like that of LSG. If you compare the two teams LSG are slightly stronger than Gujarat on paper however the KL Rahul led side is yet to register a victory against the Titans. There’s always a first time though. Might well be Lucknow’s night.

KL Rahul: We are going to bat first. Looks like a good wicket we batted first in the last two games defended pretty well. They have a better record against us but they have been a better team and had success in the previous two seasons. We are playing with the same team. It's still his (Mayank Yadav's) first season a few injuries have been hard on his body. For a 21 old boy he's very professional. It's important for us to manage him. We have some good fast bowlers and we have Morne and others to look after him.

Shubman Gill: We would have bowled first so happy. We were top on the game for 33 overs of the match the last 7 overs didn't go in our favour. We have a couple of changes. Saha misses out due to a back spasm and BR Sharath makes his debut for us. Spencer comes back in for Omarzai. We got to forget what has happened in the previous match. Lucknow Super Giants have won the toss and have opted to bat.

Pitch and ground dimensions: It's 75m straight down the ground 66m square boundaries. The surface today looks very hard not a lot of friction will be created because of the hardness. Will be better for batting when the ball is hard batting might get little tough as the ball gets softer. Dew won't come into play reckons Daren Ganga.
