Drag artist Shannel was the first ever queen to set foot in the RuPaul's Drag Race werkroom on the first season of the multiple Emmy-winning series. Having also competed in All Stars 1, she's now back on our screens on All Stars 9 which debuts on Paramount+ on Friday May 17th. At the New York premiere for the new season, Shannel spoke with The Queer Review's editor James Kleinmann about why she wanted to be part of this season, her chosen charity, The Anxiety and Depression Association of America, the impact that drag has had on her life, and how she sees drag helping others.
