1. History

Pro number 1 is the history. The City of San Gabriel is an anchor of the deep history of our area. I mean our area is named San Gabriel Valley for a reason and thats because of the Spanish Mission thats located in the city. Built back in 1771 and dubbed The San Gabriel Arc Angel, this was the origin of our area. So, if you live in San Gabriel, this state-wide landmark is in your backyard. The mission also neighbors a playhouse a venue where concerts and entertainment events are hosted. So, the history of San Gabriel is Pro Number 1.

2. Super Markets

Pro # 2 is SuperMarkets in San Gabriel. Super Markets are abundant in San Gabriel. Especially the asian ones, We have 168 Supermarket, 99 Ranch, San Gabriel Supermarket, Good Fortune Supermarket, and Hawaii Supermarket(a little secret for the locals, if you are trying to buy a bottle of alcohol, it tends to be a bit discounted here). Theres also Super A Super Market and Carniceria La Lupita and Los Toros Meat Market, which although it technically in Rosemead its right on the border of San Gabriel, so we’re counting it here. anywhere you live in San Gabriel, you’re no more than a 7 minute drive from a supermarket, which is a huge plus. so Pro #2 is Supermarkets

3. Schools

Pro #3 is the Schools in San Gabriel. Great Schools - Comparable to the local area

CONS

1. Bad Drivers

Con # 1 is the Bad Drivers in our city. Yes you heard that right, the drivers are terrible here. If you are a residence in San Gabriel, you understand this, especially driving down valley blvd. I’ve seen cars on the wrong side of the road, people making u-turns but running over the center divider, making full stops for no reason at all, i mean when i enter San Gabriel, my defensive driving is on full alert. I mean theres a youtube channel and facebook group commited to sharing stories and videos of the bad drivers in the SGV, but i feel like for some reason its amplified in San Gabriel California.

2. Cost Of Living

Con#2 is the Cost of living in our city. Real Estate Prices.

3. Type of Home Available

Con#3 is the type of home available in the city. You’ll expect to see single family homes built in the 1920’s through 1970’s. Then, you’ll have a smaller subsection of homes that have recently been renovated in the 2010’s. Alot of the older homes are first or second owners and have definitely seen better days. The geography of San Gabriel is flat as well, so you dont get much variety in terms of the landscape here.
