"Hello, this is Suzanne Perrault. I'm co-director of the 20th Century Department and partner at Rago Auctions. We've been selling fine contemporary glass for a long time here now, but I have developed a personal interest in it over the last few years. I'm quite smitten by its possibilities and by the ways artists are using it now-a-days, both glass artists, but also artists who are exploring glass as a different medium. We'll be offering several fine examples in our June 9th auction.

We have, for example, two beautiful Whopper Vases by Dante Marioni in complementary colors. The whoppers were the first large scale pieces that Marioni made in the late 1980s when he was given his first solo show. We also have a very nice Chihuly Seaform in five pieces. It is titled "Pink Seaform with White Wraps" and we got it in it's original box from the studio. It's all carved in foam and that will go with it's new owner. Here's a cool and crazy ladder sculpture by Therman Statum. Statum is best known for making these as well as his glass houses and glass furniture. A Thomas rather large and spectacular sculptural vessel where gold and silver leafed slivers seem to swim in the thick glass, just as if you were looking down at a clear pond.

There's an important piece by Vladimir Prochazka titled "Emerald". Also very large and so bold. Prochazka was gold medalist at the International Exhibition of Glass which takes place yearly in Kanagawa, Japan. For information on these I hope you come and visit us in Lambertville.
