This is how we mix up lime 🔥 Read the caption how 👇

First, we start off by gauging out our mix

Now what I mean by that is

We are going to make sure that we have equal amounts of the material that we are mixing

So, in this video, we are mixing a lime mortar which consists of

Four parts of sand, one part of sharp sand and one lime

And how we keep them equal amounts

Is we use a black bucket and we fill them to the top cut off the access so we know that every time our mix is exactly the same

By doing this, the mix is going to be the same strength all the way through the job and the colour will also be the same colour right the way through

Also, to note, the mix wants to be fairly stiff

You should be able to hold in your hand and make a ball

It should not be soft, like it would be, as if you were to lay bricks

It wants to be a nice stiff ball in your hand and get that packed right into the joint, nice and stiff.
