KLTV recently sat down with Mark Morris, the chair of the West Yorkshire Police Scrutiny Group.

As a lifelong resident of Brackenhall with over 34 years of experience at Kirklees Council, Mark has dedicated his career to improving community relations.

He spoke about his ongoing efforts to foster better relationships between the police and local communities, which includes his oversight of the Police Race Action Plan (PRAP) implemented by local police in November 2023.

The scrutiny group, along with its associated panels, comprises members of the public from local communities.

These members play a crucial role in advising and discussing policing matters within their areas, ensuring that the police force remains accountable and responsive to the needs and concerns of the communities they serve.
