L.A. Sunshine by Aura Urziceanu was originally released in 1978 in 🇨🇦 at Change Records. Maybe apparently it has nothing in common with Romanian music, but we know that Aura Urziceanu is the queen of jazz from 🇹🇩 and this is all that matters.
For this remix I sampled Aura’s voice from the 12’’ vinyl (reissued in 2021) from my own collection.
This complex work, as the voice of Aura, is divided in 3 parts. The first two are breakbeat style, while the last one is disco house style. These three parts are separated by breaks with a low frequency bass which hits in chest and blows the brain.

„I wanted to do something totally different from the original version (a true disco gem) from 1978 which, by the way, still sounds damn good. I thought the combination of breakbeat and house is perfect. Breakbeat is for intro and content, with the „usual” vocal part, while the house part thought it was the most appropriate for when Aura raises the octaves alongside using scatting in her characteristic style.”
