About Ustad Faiyaz Khan Saheb Ji;
Ustad Faiyaz Khan was a renowned Indian classical vocalist and composer, who belonged to the Agra gharana of Hindustani classical music. He was also known as Aftab-e-Mausiqi (the Sun of Music) and Prem Piya (his pen-name). He was born in 1886 in Sikandara, near Agra, and died in 1950 in Baroda. He was a master of dhrupad and khyal styles, as well as thumri and ghazal. He was a court musician of the Maharaja of Baroda and performed in many prestigious music festivals and conferences across India. He also had many admirers among other musicians, poets, and royalty. About Raag Yaman;
Raag Yaman is a beautiful and popular raag in the Hindustani classical music tradition. It is also known as Kalyan, Eman, or Kalyani in Carnatic music. It is a sampurna raag, meaning it uses all seven notes in both ascending and descending scales. The only exception is the fourth note, which is sharp (teevra) in this raag. The raag belongs to the Kalyan thaat, which is named after it. The raag is usually sung or played in the evening, when the lights are turned on. It creates a mood of romance, devotion, serenity, and elegance. Some of the characteristic phrases of this raag are:

Pa Ma# Ga Re Ni Re Sa
Ni Re Ga Ma# Pa Dha Ni Sa
Sa' Ni Dha Pa Ma# Ga Re Sa

The vadi (most important) note of this raag is Ga, and the samvadi (second most important) note is Ni. The raag avoids using Pa in the ascent, but uses it in the descent. The raag also avoids using Sa at the beginning of the ascent, and starts from Ni instead.
