Organist Bobby Pagan Plays the Ritz/A.B.C. Richmond London. Wurlitzer organ. This was first broadcast on BBC Radio 2 on the 18/04/1968. There again this was recorded from the radio on a 1960s Reel to reel tape recorder so the quilty is not up to today's high standards. But I thought this was a super programme of music that Bobby Pagan Played here and it's lovely to hear his own voice introduce the items he is going to play.
Bobby Pagan was a fine organist he held many notable cinema organ posts in the heyday of the cinema organ. From the Regal Glasgow to Aberdeen in his native Scotland where he made his first broadcast on the Regal Glasgow organ. He opened the Troxey Wurlitzer in Stepney in 1935 the birthplace of the "Troxy Theme. He also played the Gaumont State Wurlitzer and many more organs, later he devoted much time to teaching music but still loved to play the cinema pipe organ. He broadcast the A.B.C. Richmond 3/8 Wurlitzer a number of times in these late 1960s BBC broadcast.
