So this is an example of what a 5 looks like for the AP Art: Drawing exam. Here are the two excerpts that were written to go with the concentration:

In my central idea I explore the many faces of my best friend, my sister, in which I depict her signature looks that make her, her. Within these works I portray a close sisterly bond, that is very unique at my age, due to the stereotype that teenage sisters aren’t supposed to like each other so much that they consider themselves best friends.

In the beginning of my concentration I was more interested in depicting the many faces of my best friend, my sister, in the traditional portrait. Though as I progressed I became more interested in the faces that she makes only in front of me, her whimsical side, creating more of a non traditional portrait of her, as seen in image 6 where I used Chuck Close as inspiration to help depict this idea by breaking up the image into dots that when from afar clearly shows her with a puffed cheek that she points at. As I kept producing I realized the true reason in which I drew her and that was of that sisterly bond we share that is rare to see as teenagers, in which I then started to produce pieces that included me in them to depict that bond we share. This bond can be seen with images 8-11 while also showing the many faces of my sister in atypical expressions. Which can definitely been seen in images 9 and 10 as I portray her real self and her personality through the funny faces that she makes with me. At the end I realized that I did not need our expressions to show our sisterly bond and explored the idea of symbolizing this bond as seen with image 12 where the outstretched hand is the symbol of our close bond and friendship.
