The Tragic Death of General George S. Patton

There are many famous and controversial figures to emerge from World War II, but General S. Patton is arguably one of its most controversial. During World War II, Patton commanded victorious battles in the Mediterranean, North Africa, and mainland Europe.

But even though he had won famous victories and employed effective strategies during WWII, Patton was also known for his many controversies that included slapping shell shocked soldiers and sending a doomed task force to free his son-in-law from a POW camp. However, few would have thought that this man of war would die in a hospital bed after a car crash. This is the tragic death of General S. Patton.
