Solo Snowshoeing and Cooking alone into the forest late January in South East of Norway near the town of Vikersund.

Winter hiking on snowshoes is fantastic and if you have not done it before I highly recommend it.

Finally after a long hiatus I am back with another video. This time I headed out into the mountains with the backpack full of food, snowshoes and cooking equipment.

As my main cooking equipment I used the Trangia stove. And to boil the water for my coffee I used the ultralight Caldera Keg-GVP Stove System from Trail Designs. Both kits are wonderful companions to short or long hiking / backpacking or comping trips. Of the two the stops system from Trangia is the most solid and will last you a lifetime - and have more uses than the ultralight kit that is best for cooking or heating single serve food or cooking water for that wonderful cup of coffee.

The snowshoes is from Tubbs and are wonderful, lightweight and built real well.

In this forest there are many Moose throughout the year. But today these wonderful animals did not cross my path as they have done here so many times before.
