The game being reviewed, SpongeBob HeroPants is a new SpongeBob game to help market the new SpongeBob SquarePants movie. Some of the SpongeBob SquarePants video games are some of the best platformers out there. Does this game live up to the awesomeness of the first movie game or is it just another cash-in to make money off the naive minds of little children? Let’s find out.

DISCLAIMER (12/11/2021): The Robot boss actually is from the movie. At the time I just assumed it was recycled alongside the Robotic Revenge robots that are in the game. This video was produced before I watched the movie, and it shows.

So I managed to play HeroPants as soon as it came out. Turns out it's just as bad as I said it would be in my rant. It's a generic kids game Activision is using to take the money right out of parents' wallets regardless of the actual quality of the game. It's quite a sad excuse for a co-op platformer. Ironically, the game won't sell anyway, just like with Robotic Revenge. You see, back when THQ had the SpongeBob license we had creative games that we still love to this day. If Heavy Iron Studios don't get their hands on the SpongeBob license soon, we will never see a good SpongeBob game again.

I have not played this game on 3DS, only PlayStation Vita and Xbox 360. I've seen gameplay of the 3DS version, though, and it looks just as shitty, if not shittier.
