Eastbourne in the 1920s and 1930s - a richly illustrated talk by Alan Wenham.

Описание к видео Eastbourne in the 1920s and 1930s - a richly illustrated talk by Alan Wenham.

'Local History Enthusiast' and ever-popular orator Alan Wenham gave this presentation to members of the Eastbourne Society - www.eastbournesociety.co.uk - at their June 2023 monthly meeting.

Alan's full presentation, improved and embellished here for clearer media enjoyment, is an entertaining and informative look back at the time period many would argue is the heyday of the East Sussex seaside town of Eastbourne - the 1920s and 1930s - a time of growth, architectural and cultural improvements... and without the loss of life or structure that would come very soon with the Second World War.

We hope you enjoy this latest in a growing catalogue of Alan's talks. If you haven't done so already, take a look at his 'Evolution of...' series also here on this youtube channel - and please like and subscribe to be instantly informed of new media additions and 'all things Eastbourne'.

Incidentally, as Alan says in this presentation, this is the first of three in a planned series that will cover Eastbourne's devastation in the Second World War and its steps to recovery.
