How to keep old phones working. Installing LineageOS 18.1 on the Oneplus One and Pixel 2XL

So unlike the last time I did this, I thought I'd go ahead and give more than one example of how to flash lineage os onto a phone to highlight the fact that the installation isn't quite the same for them all. For starters, my installation of fastboot wasn't even up to date enough to do the flash unlock command on the pixel 2xl in this video. So, while this isn't a universal installation instruction video, I hope that it's at least good enough to help show HOW to do the steps for whatever phone you're flashing LineageOS18.1 onto.
