Crochet Sunburst Granny Square:
With first color, make a magic circle.
Rnd 1: Ch 2 (counts as first DC here and throughout), 15 DC into circle, sl st in top of ch-2 to join, fasten off, pull tail to close circle. | 16 DC.
Rnd 2: With sl knot of 2nd color on hook, sl st in top of last st worked, begPS in same st, PS in next 15 sts, sl st in top of begPS to join, fasten off. | 16 PS (including begPS).
Rnd 3: With sl knot of 3rd color on hook, sl st in any sp between two PS, (beg4DCcl, ch 1) in same sp, [4DCcl, ch 1] in each sp between PS a rnd, sl st in top of beg4DCcl to join, fasten off. | 16 4DCcl, 12 ch-1 sps.
Rnd 4: With sl knot of 4th color on hook, sl st in any ch-1 sp, ch 2, 2 DC in same sp, [2 HDC in next ch-1 sp, 2 SC in next ch-1 sp, 2 HDC in next ch-1 sp, (3 DC, ch 2, 3 DC) in next ch-1 sp] 3 times, 2 HDC in next ch-1 sp, 2 SC in next ch-1 sp, 2 HDC in next ch-1 sp, 3 DC in beg ch-1 sp, ch 2, sl st in top of beg ch to join, fasten off. | 24 DC, 16 HDC, 8 SC, 4 ch-2 sps.
Rnd 5: With 5th color, sl st in any ch-2 sp, ch 2 (does not count as a st), [DC in next 14 sts, ch 2] around, sl st to first st to join, fasten off. | 56 DC, 8 chs.
