Purple sapphire is a color that originates from the mixture of red and blue, combining the qualities of both sapphire types [ruby/pink sapphire and blue sapphire].

Personally, I never recommend going for a purple sapphire or a deep bloody sapphire with red spots, which in Hindi is called Khooni Neelam.
However light purplish or violetish sapphires, similar to blue sapphires that have a slight whitish hue, a lighter color, or a violet tone. Many people in Kolkata follow astrologers and have observed results from wearing such stones.

If you want to wear Khooni Neelam, consult an astrologer first. While it shows results quickly, it can also bring negative effects just as rapidly.
Pink Sapphire and Ruby:

The Difference
Both are types of sapphire. The difference lies in a fine line:
A lighter-colored ruby is referred to as a pink sapphire.
Conversely, a pink sapphire with a red tone is considered a ruby.
Both stones are worn to strengthen the Sun (Surya).
If you want to strengthen the Sun but avoid its harsh effects, go for a pink sapphire.

However, most people prefer a ruby, which can also provide results.
Those with a Leo (Simha) ascendant can wear a ruby.

Purple Sapphire vs. Ruby

Purple sapphire and ruby belong to different families:
Purple sapphire comes from the blue sapphire family.

Ruby comes from the yellow sapphire family.

Those wearing emerald (Panna), blue sapphire (Neelam), or any stone associated with Venus can wear purple sapphire.
On the other hand, those wearing coral (Moonga), yellow sapphire (Pukhraj), or pearl (Moti) should opt for ruby or pink sapphire.
