Katamari Royal Reverie: Extra-Special-Training 972 Battle Damacy Rolls

Heya! I definitely have some explaining to do for this one lol.

On the end screen of this stage, it records the number of Battle Damacy Rolls. This is the number of those floating fires that you collect throughout the stage; they are not included in object count.

For each Battle Damacy you collect, it sends a punch to the boxer in the corner. How powerful that punch is seems to depend on how many Battle Damacys you collected in the previous few seconds.

Here, I try collecting each Battle Damacy individually with ~5 seconds between each pickup so as to minimize the damage each punch deals to the boxer. This strategy worked much better than I expected, lol. I reached the first size-up while the boxer's health was still green, and I was even able to reach a second size-up. No obvious size gain after that though. By the end, almost the entire stage had been cleared of the fireflies.

This can be done much better if one ends on the mass of fireflies in the tree by the bear that runs in circles with the momotaro on his head.

With how slow this strategy is, my run took over two and a half hours to finish. My laptop doesnt like 2.5 hour videos, so I had to edit lots out. In the end, I included the first 20 minutes plus some other key moments. I do still have footage of the entire run on an external hard drive, but its cut into like 5 parts, and I cant really mush them into one video...

Thanks to all the extra size in this run, I was able to roll up the bug collector and 'no swimming' sign, in addition to the tsuchinoko and momotaro, for a total of 4 objects.

It is possible to crash and drop a Battle Damacy; picking it up again sends another punch to the boxer. Interestingly, after ending the stage and returning to the hub world, it says my time for this stage is 100:00 which is cool.
