TCRC - Early Summer Diesel Gala Day 1 22/06/2024

The diesel galas are back!!. Due to missing out on a spring diesel gala there shall now be two diesel galas in the summer one being this one the "Early Summer Diesel Gala" and the "Late Summer Diesel Gala" .

This event which ran for two days from the 22nd June to the 23rd June 2024 saw 7 visiting locomotives and 1 static display visitor for the 00 gauge layout coming from Birmingham, Kent and Suffolk, However sadly one of the visitors Ruston Engine'd Class 37/9 37905 "Vulcan Enterprise" failed prior to the event leaving us at 5 operational visiting engines.

GWR Class 57 57602 "Restormel Castle" (From Birmingham)
Chiltern Railways Class 68 68010 "Oxford Flyer" (From Birmingham)
TPE Class 68 68027 "Splendid" (From Birmingham/Static Display)

Also in operation was Class 24 D5054 which although is classed as a resident locomotive will now only appear at galas or events (Now classed as a visitor).

Another thing making this event memorable is resident class 37 37043 "Loch Lomand" and Class 45 45135 which were doing there first passenger services on the Trundley Close Model Railway since being purchased earlier in the year.

Sadly due to inconsistent weather patterns the O Gauge Garden Railway was unable to operate on the Saturday 22nd June 2024 with its planned class 27 and class 33 shuttle services.
