The Opta® WiFi features 8 input terminals, 4 relays, 4 LED status indicators, and a programmable button. The DIN Simulate offers a protection circuit, 8 switches to simulate inputs to the Opta, and a 24 volt power plug to power the entire system without needing to insert the PLC into an electrical panel. Additionally, the boards' white rectangular graphic offers a dry erase surface for users to note project information. The DIN Celsius provides heater circuits and a temperature sensor for easy yet complete monitoring and control projects.

Here we’ll demonstrate motor control using Ladder logic. First, connect a 24 volt motor and the Arduino DIN Simulate to the Opta.

Connect the Opta with a USB cable. Open the Arduino PLC IDE and create a new project
Right click the project name and add a new program. Select LD for ladder logic, assign a name, and set the task for fast. Under resources, select relay outputs and create a motor1 variable, then select button inputs and create a button1 variable. Select the program tab under local variables and assign the button1 variable to the switch and the motor1 variable to the coil. Now, compile and download the code.

Test the code by connecting power to the DIN Simulate. Then hold down the user button to jog the motor.
