It was mentioned by one of the community member on reddit that if the game has been shutdown and restarted at 14:45 while doing Ifrit/Bahamut ex2, you can resume and skip Mega Flare. This is actually working on android devices, and it is a lot of help, however, you still need to put up a tough fight.

Generally speaking, applying poison and having your characters with 9.5k hp and more than 135 mdef is very important.
