HVAC air intake vents are typically in a very obvious place, but there's no reason they can't look nicer as long as they still have good air flow!

The materials needed for this are fairly simple:

Enough 1" x 2" trim to fit your space
Decorative aluminum sheet (available at Home Depot or Lowes)
Saw (power or hand)
Wood Glue
Staple gun
Primer and Paint
Drill with screws (to hang it)
