John Kelsey: New Member Stewart Furini from the UK joins Coffee Hour. Stewart will be coming to the AAW Symposium to demonstrate.

Club news: LAW May 7 th monthly club meeting demo will feature Doug Reesor showing
his and John Kelsey’s sanding video, plus Doug will also be doing
some sanding at the lathe as well as giving some sharpening tips.
There is also a brief discussion regarding meeting days and times
(weekdays/evenings, vs. Saturday meetings…

John does a brief update on his magnet boxes and jars, this week
featuring a spalted tamarind jar and a pair of in-process ash jars.

Mike Golka: Mike shows his tall box elder and epoxy resin vase, an unknown
wood and epoxy resin enclosed form, and a ‘fish’ bowl with a koi
pond in the bottom. A brief discussion follows regarding epoxy
casting methods and Mike’s hollowing methodology.

Stewart Furini: Stewart shows two highly-decorated wide-rimmed bowls, a routing jig he uses for some of his decorating, plus a tour of his jam-packed
shop.

Jim Duxbury: Jim shows his angular offset spalted sycamore box, not turned using his Dux Chuck.

Bert Delisle: Bert shows his wood flooring glue-ups from which he turned
spheres, turned as owl heads, then using an irrigation coupling, his
creating the eye surrounds.

Toby Bouder: Toby follows up on his most excellent maple burl process and shows the five final stunning dyed pieces.
